What applying this looks like in Massachusetts institutions, and why it is tied to state competitiveness.
Latina Equal Pay Day arrives on October 8, marking how far into the year Latinas must work to earn what white, non-Hispanic men earned the year before. That gap runs about 54 cents on the dollar nationally, among the widest of any group tracked. For Massachusetts, addressing it head on is tied directly to the state's competitiveness, and this session is a first step toward that work.
